Arctic Grey composite fence panels
A cool, mid-tone grey with deep wood-grain embossing and a sanded face — the finish that stays legible when the sky is flat and white for three months.
Most people choosing a fence colour are looking at it on a phone, indoors, under warm light. That is the one condition it will never actually be seen in.
How this grey behaves outdoors
Arctic Grey is the lightest of the three greys we stock. On an overcast day — which is most days here from November through February — it holds its tone rather than flattening into the sky behind it. In direct sun the sanded face is what does the work: it scatters light instead of bouncing it, so the run doesn't glare or show the hot streak that a glossier board picks up along its top edge.
Overcast
Reads slightly warmer and lighter than it looks on screen. Sits well against white trim, pale stucco and concrete without disappearing into a grey sky.
Direct sun
The embossing shadows deepen and the grain becomes the dominant texture. This is when Arctic Grey looks least like a flat panel and most like timber.
Shade and north-facing
Goes cooler and closer to true neutral. Works with green planting; can look cold beside a lot of red brick.
Wet
Darkens noticeably while wet and returns as it dries. Worth knowing before you judge a sample on a rainy afternoon.
Which of the three greys
Almost everyone who lands here is really deciding between three boards. The difference is tone and surface, not build — same profile, same posts, same hardware.
Arctic Grey
Lightest. Sanded face, 3D deep embossing. The one to pick when the fence should recede and let the planting or the house lead.
Charcoal Grey
Mid-dark, matte. Reads almost black from the street. Hides dust and pollen far better than the lighter boards.
Shadow Grey
Between the two, matte, with more brown in it. Softer against cedar soffits and wood siding than Arctic.
Still not sure? Compare all six against each other on the composite fence colours page, or ask us to put boards side by side at the Coquitlam warehouse before you commit — this is the one decision that is genuinely hard to make from photographs.

How it goes together
Arctic Grey is a board, not a system — it drops into the same aluminum post and channel frame as every other colour we carry. That matters because it means the colour decision and the build decision are separate. You can change your mind about the grey without changing anything about the posts, the footings or the gates.
The boards work with in-ground posts on soil, with anchor-base posts on concrete, patios and retaining walls, and with taller panels where a lane or a neighbouring deck means six feet isn't enough. On sloped lots the run is stepped so each bay stays level rather than raked.
Typical use: backyard and side-yard privacy runs, strata and townhouse boundaries, laneway frontages, pool and patio screening, and planter or garden-wall facing.

Photographs flatten texture. The embossing on Arctic Grey is what stops a long run looking like plastic sheeting, and it only really shows when the light moves across it.

Ordering
Arctic Grey is available supply-only for contractors and experienced DIY builders, or supplied and installed by our crew across Metro Vancouver. Supply-only orders are bundled by bay so the count on site matches the count on the invoice.
Send your fence length, the height you need, how many gates, your city and a few photos of the line. Photos of the corners, any slope, and the access route are worth more than precise measurements at this stage — a sketch is fine.
See it before you decide
Send your measurements for a material list and a quote in Arctic Grey, or come and put the board next to Charcoal and Shadow Grey at our Coquitlam warehouse. Ten minutes with the real boards settles it faster than any photograph.
